Well, I guess we should be used to train delays, what with suffering the cancellation of two services in a row by Virgin Trains just before we set off. However, the delay we suffered on the train journey between Nairobi and Kisumu yesterday put that to shame.
Just to update, apparently, there was an earthquake while we were on the train. It was that bumpy and we were that tired that none of us noticed…

That is the question…
Hannah, Tommy and finally admitted defeat last night in trying to find a hotel listed in the latest edition of the Footprint guide to Kenya. What a struggle it was to reach that decision though!

After a surprisingly smooth route to the airport care of Granddad, our flight departed on time, took off smoothly, avoided turbulance, tried Tommy’s patience and then promptly landed on time at about 9pm Kenya time (6.00pm for most of you reading this). We were pretty shattered on arrival and just grabbed a Tusker (Kenyan Beer) and crashed out.
