Sounds like the language work is beginning to pay off - it gives such different access to the culture and the social interaction- what about Tommy, how many words has he got?
It's cold here right now - 1 degree in Plymouth, -2 in Manchester tonight. If the Atlantic conveyor stops this will be warm weather! Hope your search for a new base is turning up some possibilities.
David has started Swahili lessons - David! Perhaps the hard slog of linguistics at University College was good groundwork. I looked up some of the references about the Luo homestead on Google and came across a most informative site. Pictures of the traditional and the corrugated rooftops. As I am afraid of the darkness I really don't think I can come out until that phobia is dealt with. If you move who would provide the security, the generator, and swim pool? An adventure for Thomas. Do you celebrate Burns Night?
