Heshima

Tommy at Heshima

Today we took Tommy out to the newest gig in town, the Heshima play centre. Its been open for about 3 weeks and has been a bit of a godsend since school finished for two months holiday.

The tree house

There are lots of activities for the kids. There’s a paddling pool, an arts and craft banda, a music banda, a trampoline as well as a bouncy castle (Tommy still calls them Jumpy Castles), a trampoline and a tricycle track. This was the third time we had visited and Tommy really loves it. Today he actually told us we could go off to the bar and leave him to play on his own. I was fine with that, but I think Hannah was a little reluctant.

Over at the bar, I met another KIS (Kisumu International School) dad who I had heard about but not bumped in to previously in the 6 months we’ve been in town. Heshima has been quite a good place to meet other dads, actually. The last time we went I bumped in to another KIS dad. I think its the treetop assault course and zip line thats bringing fathers out of the woodwork…
There’s not much more news from Tommy and I. We’re getting in to a school break routine. Swimming lessons twice a week, play dates and possibly a sumer school arangement, but that’s all. Hannah, on the otherhand, has now found a place to stay in Bonda and is busy decorating the nest. We have’t been to visit yet, so I can’t say much about it, but I think Hannah will try to put something up about it next week.
