Tommy’s Third Birthday!

Tommy's Birthday Cake

Tommy turned three on Sunday and it has taken a while for us to get around to posting about it - Sorry! We had a little party for his friends, but seeing as it came the day after a grown up’s Halloween Party, the mood among the adult attendants was, erm, ’subdued’. The kids had a great time though, playing games, drowning in cake and dipping into the paddling pool.

The most important thing was that Tommy had a good time. After a good bit of coaching, the children really enjoyed the - apparently, very British - games. They loved “pass the parcel” and eventually mastered “musical statues” and “sleeping lions” (I’m sure we used to call it dead lions when I was little, but it seems a bit too wonderfully un-PC, so perhaps I’m misremembering).

A good time was had by all, I think and the food Hannah, Lillian and our friend Joseph prepared was wonderful. Here’s a few pictures of the party and a bonus one of Hannah and Tommy talking to Granddad via “teh wonders of teh internets” - or GoogleTalk to you and me.

Thanks Helen. Glad you managed to comment - I’ve just been upgrading the site. I was worried I may end up crashing it. Clearly all’s OK :)

    Thanks. I couldn’t agree more!

Actually, It’s just occurred to me that I’ve messed up this post. It was actually a joint birthday with Omondi, who also turned three. Lillian says Omondi’s birthday is the same day as Tommy’s, but this date had been rather changeable until recently when she became adamant it was the 29th October as well.

Anyway, I’m going to dig out another photo tomorrow, add it here and edit this post. It’s a little late here to do it now…

Many apologies for not remembering Tommy’s birthday but post wedding tasks took over! He clearly had a lovely time. We look forward to seeing you in London.

    Helloo!

Have just been woefully reminded of failing my task as Aunty and missing Tommy’s birthday, but “Happy Birthday”!!

He looks very happy indeed (as well as potentially covered in cake in the laptop photo) and I’m loving that red shirt ;-)

Anyway..chat more over msn soon! xx

Not to worry Carol - you were busy watching the first of your offspring getting married - Tommy will have birthdays every year and given its only number three, I think most people are still getting the hang of them!

By the way, Thomas’s best man speech looked entertaining!
