So, weighing in at 8lb 10oz, we present to you a new baby:

It isn’t that great a photo, but it is the first ever one, so I’ve used it. Baby is about 6 minutes old here
As yet, this model is un-named, but we’ll update you as soon as we know! There are some much better photos on Flicker in this photoset. Please send everyone there to have a look!

Well, there’s not much to this post - just a quick note to say that Tommy looks like an aspiring rock god in this t-shirt, which he tried on for the first time today. It was made by his auntie Sonia when she was still in single digits (can’t remember how old, but it has to be around 12+ years ago). Clearly she didn’t know her nephew was going to look so punk in it!
I’ll be back in the UK in the next few weeks, but I’ll have a major post about what we’ve all been up to before then, I hope (coz Hannah won’t get round to posting!).
Tommy turned three on Sunday and it has taken a while for us to get around to posting about it - Sorry! We had a little party for his friends, but seeing as it came the day after a grown up’s Halloween Party, the mood among the adult attendants was, erm, ’subdued’. The kids had a great time though, playing games, drowning in cake and dipping into the paddling pool.

I will be in the UK in December, arriving (early) on the fifth and leaving (late) on the twelfth. That’s just under a week, so I will probably be limited to staying in London and (maybe) going up to Manchester and/or Oxford. I’m travelling on my own - Tommy and Hannah will stay in Kisumu. The reason I’m coming is that I have to leave Kenya due to visa restrictions. Also, its proving rather tricky to sort out some of our finances from here, so this is a chance to get on top of some nagging issues. Post a comment here if you want to see me. I think I’ll be based at Paul’s house in N19 for most of my stay, but I’m flexible. I’d like to catch up with as many people as possible, but it may be be tricky to do so…
Have you ever had one of those moments where…
Well, initially, the lead in text here was going to read “where the ground opens up and makes you vanish”, however, due to me possibly being a bit too smart for my own good, it probably now should read:
“Have you ever had one of those moments where you actually knew where the nearest internet cafe was before you promised to do something that needs the internet”
What am I on about? Well, if I got my punctuation right on the sheet of paper I left on a desk at The Tea Factory, Liverpool, at least three people reading this should know exactly. For anyone else passing by, this post is in response to the final task set by the panel interviewing candidates for the position of Digital Content and Communications Coordinator with Liverpool Biennial.
At the end of the interview, I was asked to editorialise the interview process in the form of a blog post. I was then presented with a piece of paper on which to write. I’ve never written a blog post with pen and paper before and felt it would be difficult to complete the task satisfactorily. Should I be creative - write a Haiku? A limerick? Should I be cryptic – turn the sheet into a paper model? A plane? All these ideas came to me, but not a blog post. Not on paper. With a pen.
